Baobab seed oil is created in our sustainable and certified-organic facility, and it is a cold pressed oil. What this means is that the hard outer capsule is cracked and then the seeds are extracted. After washing the seeds to remove the powder coating, they are then air dried in the hot sun. After pressing, the seeds are stable and are able to be stored for many months. The baobab oil is squeezed through an expeller, or a press, which pulls the natural oils out of the seeds. The natural oil can be filtered and then bottled.
True to the company’s values of quality and safety, no further refinement or processing is necessary and no additives are necessary. Social responsibility and sustainability are always at the forefront with Baobab Fruit Company Senegal, so the majority of work is done by villagers who rely on the money provided by the work to support their families and send their children to school.
